Torstar announced that its digital division, Torstar Digital, will be reorganized in order to simplify management and operation structures.
Wagjag, Jaunt and Travel Alerts will be moved under the Metroland Media division where Save.ca is also managed.
Media operations, like the advertising sales company Olive Media, will shift to the Star Media Group.
The majority of Torstar Digital’s 200 employees will remain employed. The reorganization seems to be for operational and management effectiveness.
Our quick comment: Having Wagjag, Jaunt, Travel Alerts and Save.ca under the MetroLand umbrella will provide Torstar with more operational efficiencies and also be easier to show the market that Torstar, now through Metroland is essentially the largest Deals & Coupons provider in all of Canada.
